Jocelyn was born and raised in Seattle. Spent 11 years of her upbringing on the piano bench in her living room. She achieved music literacy before English literacy. Chinese was her first spoken language however.
Throughout high school, Jocelyn... made short independent videos (with friends, mini-DV cameras, and Final Cut Pro); enrolled in a basic photography class (involving manual film cameras, a dark room, fixative and other smelly chemicals); began to write and record songs (making use of her musical background, piano, acoustic guitar and lack of formal vocal training). And so it started.
In 2006, she co-founded the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) with Jesse Harris. The festival has year-round programs and one annual 3-day festival in the spring in Seattle and is a 100% carbon neutral NGO. Leading sponsors include Volvo, Bing and Nike 6.0.

On the Dean’s Scholarship, Jocelyn began her four-year BFA degree in Film Production at Chapman University, where she sharpened her skills as a visual storyteller, team leader and individual thinker. In 2011, her thesis film “Pocket Elephant” was announced as a region 1 finalist for the 38th annual Student Academy Awards. She also received the Meredith MacRae Memorial Award from Women In Film.
Currently she resides in Santa Monica and works as a freelance photographer and filmmaker.
